The Makita 18 Volt/12 Volt Lithium-Ion rapid optimum charger has the capacity to charge both 18 Volt and 12 Volt batteries. It charges 18 Volt 2 Amp-hour batteries in 25 minutes, 18 Volt 3 Amp-hour batteries in 30 minutes, 18 Volt 4 Amp-hour batteries in 40 minutes, 18 Volt 5 Amp-hour batteries in 45 minutes, 18 Volt 6 Amp-hour batteries in 55 minutes, 12 Volt 2 Amp-hour batteries in 30 minutes and 12 Volt 4 Amp-hour batteries in 60 minutes. Built-in chip in the battery helps in easy communication with the charger to maximize battery life by controlling current, voltage and temperature. Built-in fan of the charger cools down the battery in case of excess heat to prolong the battery’s life.
